In this year’s State Fair of Texas we had a debut of 2015 Chevrolet Silverado. This was the show that General Motors has chosen the to reveal its new heavy-duty truck from Chevrolet. It should be on sales in the first quarter of next year and this vehicle will have plenty to brag about. Many updates, such as new exterior and interior styling, also new engines and a host of new options making this vehicle very interesting.
2015 Chevy Silverado changes
The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado’s new inlaid doors fitting into the body sides makes exterior shapes more aerodynamic, also reducing wind noise. More aero fine points are gained with tuning body details in the roof and tailgate spoiler in the wind tunnel. This new pickup ride on fully boxed frames with large cross sections, hydroforming and high-strength steels. Rear springs are asymmetrical leafs.
Comparing it’s payload and towing to 2014 model – it has better payload of 3344 kg, 70 kg better than in 2014. Maximum towning is 8890 kg compared to 8164 in previous model. Both towning and payload are best in the class. This vehicle is equipped with some unique -to-GM conveniences, such as LED lighting and the EZ Lift-and-Lower tailgate or rear corner step bumper. 2015 Chevrolet Silverado’s buyers won’t have an option to buy it in HD version as the buyers for the 2015 Chevrolet Sierra HD will have. Torsion bars allow easier trim height adjustment to account for the weight.

Under the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado’s hood you will have two options for engines. Standard is a Vortec 6.0-liter V8 that produces 360 horsepower in the 2500 HD. Torque level is at 515 Nm of torque in all applications. Duramax engine the 6.6-liter turbo diesel B20-capable V8 is second option, with 397 hp and 1037 Nm of torque is equipped for maximum towing and excellent flexibility. So far, with maximum towning of 10523 kg, 2015 Chevrolet Silverado offers better conventional trailer towing than rival heavy-duty trucks. The Duramax engine gets six-speed Allison automatic transmission and the gas engines are paired with the six -speed Hydra-Matic – no manual transmissions.

The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado will undergo more than 6 million miles, before they’re released to the dealers. That distance is 240 trips around the earth. Durability testing are made in the torture chambers at GM’s Milford Proving Ground, over deserts and mountains of Nevada and across the frozen flats of Kapuskasing in Ontario. Special attention is to airflow for engine cooling, testing cooling airflow in the wind tunnel and on the road. The goal is to make sure engines could maintain power on long upgrades at high temperatures.
