2016 Toyota Tacoma to debut at Detroit

Detroit hosts biggest auto show in world. Because of that, most of big companies set their models premiere for this happening. Also, some of the most famous cars were launched there, so bigger chance to be noticed is to debut at Detroit car show. Toyota is growing carmaker, but it still has a lot of competition in US. So, they must launch their models where everyone will see them. However, advertisement campaign of new 2016 Toyota Tacoma started long time ago , and latest report are telling that Detroit will be place where all enthusiasts will have a chance to see what new Tacoma brings. It is just over a month for now, so excitement will grow to its peak from 12-25th of January when show took its date.

As for every foreign vehicle on US market, all Toyota vehicles face tough competition from domestic trucks. And, 2016 Tacoma will be out, competing GM, Chevy and Ford units. However, there are other Japanese carmakers trying to take their part of the market share. Honda and Nissan don’t save wither their compatriot, neither homeland companies. Mid-size pickup truck is the segment where Chevrolet and GMC have their most successful models. The 2016 Toyota Tacoma faces Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. Also, there is Honda Ridgeline. This model is expected refreshed for 2015 or 2016 year model. Nissan Frontier is the oldest car in the segment, with the model launched before all mentioned. Also, Ford is quiet for next year, but there are some rumors telling major redesigns are expected for 2016.

On the 2016 Toyota Tacoma debut at Detroit, vehicle won’t get new drivetrain lineup. It will use same unit as last model and it is 4.6-l V6 engine. Also, Tacoma will get other, more powerful option in 5.7-l V6. Rear-wheel drive come standard and 5-speed auto transmission is standard, while 6-speed automatic is optional. All engines will have direct injection. Also, new Tacoma is expected to carry over TRD Pro off-road package, which is introduced on 2015 models of Tacoma, Tundra and 4Runner.
