According to the latest information from Toyota, a lot of changes are expected in following period. All truck fans will be disappointed to hear bad news about their favorite model, Tacoma. Japanese company will end their program that developed superchargers for these models.
That means TRD supercharger won’t be installed in next model of this truck. Official information on engines is not available yet, but all buyers won’t be able to boost performance with old supercharger.
Just for record, V6 packed into current Toyota Tacoma produces 236 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. If you add TRD supercharger it gives boost of 71 hp to 307 total ponies, and 64 lb-ft of torque to 330. What is also important to all car lovers, “pushed-back” feeling is significantly bolstered.
With this move, Toyota decided to join other OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) factories that decided to offer their models without supercharger. However, companies that produce this component will continue to develop these valuable parts for all drivers that like to tune their vehicles.
